"Tidy Friday" and other August news

But before I start in about my August plans....
July ended with a bit of a wake up call! 
Shingles! Felt like left they came from left field! 
PSA: you can get shingles without the rash!
At the urgent care, the provider asked me, “Are you stressed?”
I said "not really, I manage it well" but I reflected on that a bit more.
I didn’t feel all that stressed.
Though my body was telling me something...to SLOW DOWN!
Thankfully my health coach is a former doctor and in our session I told her about the pain I was having "that sounds a lot like Shingles!" We caught it early and no biggie now!
The other good news? I'm moving and grooving! Yay!
I’m on the mend from all that disc and nerve stuff...feeling better and stronger every day.
I’m also super motivated!
and at the same time...
My body still needs a little more time.
Don’t we all? Lol!
and I think it always will!
A good reminder to keep that strength training, mobility and stretching in! Have fun with it too! Plus remember to rest! Meditation and breathwork are awesome too!
Always about finding the balance!
In addition to working with my awesome clients, I’ve been behind the scenes:
- Creating new programs 
- Writing and marketing projects 
- Plus, managing the many pieces that come with running a business 
But when I got the shingles last week I took a look at how I've been spending my work time outside of client sessions and I noticed something:
I had been jumping from one project to the next without pausing to celebrate or reset.
So now I’m making changes.
I have a better plan in place and I’m creating intentional
space in my workflow....giving myself some room to just BE. This month (August already?!?)
- I’m taking some time off - Yahoo! 
- I’m not working Fridays 
- 5K a day (3.1 miles every day of any movement) * inspired by an Instagram challenge, I'll be posting about it 
- Tidy Fridays - (I made it up :) * devoted time each week to declutter, organize, and let go of stuff 
and in 6 weeks the BIG 5-0!

And in my family, we always celebrated the big ones,
the 5s and the 0s,
and this one has both! How cool is that?!?

Never heard of Substack? I hadn’t either :) but after hearing about it I was intrigued, so I did some further investigating and research. It’s a community for writers and readers, and I love writing! (Look how long this PS is! LOL ;)
Especially with everything happening in news and journalism here in the USA, I’m excited to be there and give it a try. Plus, people are there to read and listen (yep, I’ll have my publications read by me so you can listen on your walks!)
