Iga didn’t even dare to dream of winning Wimbledon...yet she did.
Amanda took a 7-month break from tennis for her mental health, to grieve and take time.
"Breaking the stigma of mental health...it’s just as important as physical health.” she said during a pre-match interview, it was a great segment, so positive, hopeful and inspiring!
The stories of these two incredible women, who faced off in the finals of Wimbledon yesterday are incredible! amazing! motivational!
I have so much respect for Amanda and for anyone, especially athletes, who share their stories and shine a light on what it means to prioritize your mental health, take care of yourself, and step away when needed.
"A slow, intentional return to a game she once loved but needed to leave."
She found her peace before coming back. Such an important life lesson!
People told her not to take a break. But she trusted herself. And look how far she came! The Wimbledon finals! Yes, the final score was a blowout (Iga won 6–0, 6–0, something that hasn’t happened in over 100 years).
But the way Amanda showed up afterward was remarkable. She expressed amazing gratitude, grit and grace. “I ran out of gas. I will always believe in myself, and I’ll be back.”
Meanwhile, Iga worked hard to strengthen her grass game.
She listened to her coach, made key pivots, and crossed the finish line.
So humble and so refreshing! Incredible!
What an incredible representation of awesome women in sport and in life!
There will always be doubters, skeptics, and naysayers.
Don’t give them your energy.
PMA is the way for me! (Positive Mental Attitude)
Tune in to what you feel.
Your intuition is powerful. Taking breaks when we need them Making pivots in our lives
I’ve played sports my whole life and love tennis.
They teach me things I carry into life and coaching every day.
While watching the matches this weekend, I journaled about the
connections to my coaching work with clients and my own journey too:
✨ Practice ✨ Determination ✨ Setting your goals ✨ And showing up to meet them I just finished watching the Men's Final. Love the sportsmanship, big smiles
and gratitude for their teams & their friendship. Lifting each other up!
BTW...
Last week I celebrated 3 years LAF (Living Alcohol-Free)
3 years strong and I love it!
You can check out my YouTube short here (lots of views so far…totally wild,
but totally energizing too!)
Note: I decided this weekend shift my Instagram to focus more fully on LAF.
